India is assured of winning another medal in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. India in Tokyo Olympics 2021 doing extremely good. In the Boxing women quarterfinals, India’s Lovlina Borgohain defeated Chinese Taipei’s Nien-Chin Chen 4-1 to reserve a place in the semi-finals, which will happen on August 04, 2021. With this win, India is assured of another medal.
After beating Nadine Apetz of Germany, she earned a place in the quarterfinals, where she had to face the 2018 World Boxing Championships gold medalist Taipei’s Nien-Chin Chen, 23 years old, showed excellent skills won the contest 4-1.
Now In the semi-final, She will face Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli, the strong contender of the tournament. But even if she loses, she will still win a bronze medal to her name.
This will be India’s second medal after Mirabai Chanu’s silver medal in weightlifting.
After Vijender Singh and Mary Kom, she is now the third Indian to win an award at Olympics. The win is indeed an outstanding achievement for India as well as herself.
