Government launches Fit India Freedom Run 2.0

The Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 is launched by Anurag Thakur, Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports. The freedom run 2.0 starts today, 13 August, as part of the 75th anniversary of the Independence Day of India. On the launching day, the event will host 75 different physical events at other historical places. The fit India freedom run 2.0 will end on 2 October 2021.

What is fit “Fit India freedom run 2.0“?

Fit India freedom run 2.0 has been organized as a part of the celebration of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The central concept of this whole campaign is that one can run anywhere, anytime.

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched an appropriate India web portal where individuals can register themselves. The first India freedom run was held from15 August to 2 October 2020. In this campaign, almost 7.50 crore of youth took part in the run.

PM Narendra Modi launched the Fit India movement on 29 August 2019. The mission was to spread awareness through campaigns and seminars at the college, school and university levels. In the first Indian freedom run, about five crore people join the run.

How is the event “Fit INDIA FREEDOM RUN 2021” conducted?

Each week programs are held at 75 different villages in 75 districts till 2 October. The event, organized in 744 villages of 75 other communities and almost 30,000 educational, institutional s across the country.

Different organizations like the Border Security force (BSF), National Security Guard (NSG) and many more organizations participate in this event.

Purpose of freedom run campaign:

This campaign aims to get freedom from laziness, anxiety, and stress and encourages people to participate in physical activities daily. The motto of this campaign is” FITNESS KA DOZ ADHA GHANTA ROZ” to motivate individuals to do physical activity for at least 30 minutes daily.
