France’s Dembele ruled out of Euro 2020 with injury

Dembele limped off the pitch during the title holders' 1-1 Group F draw against Hungary on Saturday.

France forward Ousmane Dembele has been managed out of Euro 2020 with a physical issue, the French football alliance said on Monday, in a hit to the title holders’ desires.

Dembele had gone ahead as a second-half substitute in the title holders’ 1-1 Group F draw against Hungary on Saturday and quickly affected their assault, yet limped off with an obvious knee injury.

“Ousmane Dembele had a X-ray at the Budapest emergency clinic on Sunday night,” the FFF said in an explanation, without expounding on the idea of the injury.

“The recuperation time is contradictory with him remaining in the crew. In the wake of talking about with the player and (group specialist) Franck le Gall, (mentor) Didier Deschamps has recognized that Ousmane Dembele is precluded for the remainder of the competition.”

Deschamps actually has other assaulting choices behind starters Antoine Griezmann, Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe, with Olivier Giroud, Kingsley Coman and Wissam Ben Yedder in the crew.
