Local Self-Government Department Minister M V Govindan Master stated that the initiative would improve efficiency in garbage disposal operations.
The Kerala government plans to build a mobile app for waste disposal to improve and track the collection of inorganic trash in local self-governing bodies, which will be available in the coming months. The intelligent waste mobile application would first be made available in all six municipal corporations and around 70 municipalities and 300 local authorities across the country.

Local Self-Government Department Minister M V Govindan Master stated that the initiative would improve efficiency in garbage disposal operations. To realise and control the quantity of inorganic trash collected from each household and explain how the garbage must be processed, the app would be implemented. He said that QR codes, which would be sent to all houses, would get information on waste generated.
According to the department, the system would allow all local governments to track rubbish collection, which volunteers would carry out from the state’s poverty alleviation and women’s empowerment programme, Kudumbashree Mission.
According to the minister, Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation will supply smartphones to the volunteers, who are known as the Haritha karma sena. The Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation will support the project.
