On Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained NCP leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik after investigating him in connection with a money laundering case involving Dawood Ibrahim and the underworld.
The investigation agency interviewed Nawab Malik. Nawab Malik was transported to the hospital after his arrest for a regular medical check-up. “Ladenge aur jeetenge (Will fight and win),” the minister said as he was led to the hospital.

The Opposition, Devendra Fadnavis, has said that Nawab Malik purchased land worth crores from Sardar Shahvali Khan and Salim Patel for a little Rs 30 lakhs.
The ED is also investigating some of Malik’s other business transactions and those connected to him. According to sources, the CIA was loaded with primary evidence against Malik, and he might face legal action.
According to reports, the ED claims to have developed a money trail connecting Nawab Malik to underworld figures.
The ED also claims to have information on Nawab Malik’s Benami interests in a specific real estate project. On these bases, Nawab Malik’s remand will be requested today.
