Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Wednesday that the first dosage of the Covid-19 vaccine had been administered to at least 77 percent of the eligible population in India following a meeting with health ministers from states and union territories.
“With the first dosage of the Covid 19 vaccine, 77 percent of the eligible population in India has been immunized against the disease. People who have gotten both doses account for 32% of those who have received both doses. According to official figures, more than ten crore individuals have not received the second dosage of the vaccination. People who are eligible for the second dosage of the vaccination should receive it.”

“We’re planning to begin a massive immunization program called ‘Har Ghar Dastak,'” says the doctor. Healthcare personnel will go door-to-door to vaccinate persons who are eligible for the second dosage of the vaccine as well as those who have not had the first dose over the next one month, we’ve determined,” said the official.
As previously stated by the health minister, “special attention” will be given to 48 districts where fewer than 50 percent of the eligible population has been vaccinated during the special vaccination push.
Deputy Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has encouraged health ministers in states and union territories to “seek to cover everyone eligible with the 1st dose of Covid-19 vaccination by the end of November 2021,” according to a statement. In addition, he urged universal immunization in all areas around the country.
Meanwhile, more than 103.53 billion doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been provided in India so far. According to a health ministry bulletin issued on Wednesday morning, approximately 55,89,124 persons received the vaccine in the previous 24 hours.
